[Ipe-discuss] Duplicating a layer

My workaround for duplicating a layer goes as follows:

  1.  select the layer you want duplicate
  2.  select all elements in this layer (ctrl+shift+a)
  3.  create a new layer (ctrl+shift+n)
  4.  select the new layer, now copy (ctrl+c) and paste (ctrl+v) the elements here.

Hi there.

Is there a way to duplicate a layer?

I can't find a menu voice for this.

If not, it could be a good feature to add: at present I am having a bit
of pain because I need it and I can't find a viable workaround.

Even better, IMHO it would be nice to have a feature which create a new
layer merging together selected layers.
