[Ipe-discuss] Latex pdf output does not show miter line joins drawn in Ipe editor

Hi Otfried,

Thank you for your suggestions.

As you guessed, I'm working on Windows with the latest, albeit, relatively
outdated version of Ipe 7.0.10.*
*
Indeed when I save the EPS figure as PDF in Ipe it saves with *miter *joins.
However due to problems with converting PDF to EPS I will probably give it
up and stay with round corners until
***

Conversion from PDF to EPS*

It seems to be quite painful for me to try and convert to PDF and then to
EPS. I've spent several hours trying to do it now. It's painful for two
main reasons:

   - I have a lot of figures (all my 30+ figures) that would have
*miter*joins. I change figures frequently too.
   - I've tried XPDF and Ghostscript, but both seem to have bounding box
   problems I couldn't find a resolution for. I couldn't find a pdftoeps
   utility.

Line Join

*I have tried saving my figure with *normal *and *round *line joins and
they give the same round corners in latex pdf output. Perhaps it can be
done, but some other way?

Interestingly *Bevel *line join gives an error when I compile latex:

*Line Caps

*I also noticed that Line caps have a very similar problem to Line joins.
No matter which line join I choose (*normal, butt, or round*), the latex
pdf output always has the square-looking line endings.

When I choose *square* for line caps, my latex fails with the same message
as for *bevel* line join above.

*Updated Windows Ipe?*

Is it possible to build a more recent version of Ipe for Windows. I don't
mind if it does not have some new features, but the most important bugs
like these could be backported? This would be a big help for us Windows
users! If the version is coming, could you indicate a possible release date?

Thanks,
Alex
