When Ipe 6 started, I wanted to avoid confusion with Ipe 5 files by 
keeping .ipe for the old file format.   Probably this reason is getting 
less important now - if nobody objects, I will allow .ipe as a possible 
the extension for the Ipe 6 XML format.
