Aroids: Plants of the Arum Family

I'm a very rare poster to AEG but I feel moved to email on this in order  to
put the record straight regarding Deni's book.

It is a masterful tour de force -an extraordinary synthesis from a vast
array of often obscure literature and sources compiled over many years. And
it was done twice. The second edition stands as THE premier source of
information on the aroids aimed at a non-technical audience. That is to say
the vast majority of AEG readers. To dismiss this book  as 'not terribly
useful' is about as intelligent as declaring any books on, e.g., plant
physiology not published in English (that is to say most of them) as 'not
worth shelf space'.

I don't know how to answer you, Jim.  It seemed introductory to me:  a
survey of aroids.  Not terribly useful, but it might fill in a few gaps with

the broad array of facts that she presents. If it's cheap (as in under $ 3)
then it isn't going to hurt much. Good pictures.   It's a good book to have
already read.
