Years ago I placed nepenthoides pollen on triphyllum=2E Out of 6 seeds =p=
roduced I got three plants that looked vegetatively like their sire=2E =U=
nfortunately they=2C or any nepenthoides for that matter=2C have surv=ive=
d our outdoor wet and cold New Jersey winters for me=2E =
=
Ringens pollen on later blooming triphyllum has given me decent=2C but =n=
ot plentiful seedset=2E The little plantlets looked like triphyllum and==
were confined to one section of my garden=2E So far only a few little t=r=
iphyllum types have bloomed there=2C may also be from nearby plantings =o=
r seed=2E
=
Tried others- had seed from saxatile (odoratum=3F) sired by tortuosum==2E=
Looked like a slightly more erect=2C slightly greener-spadixed saxatil=e=
=2C but although slightly different from the mother plant (RIP ex NJ wi=n=
ter)=2C within what appears to be the normal variation for that species==
(specie complex=3F) as observed by me in photographs=2E =
=
Last couple of years I had very little coincident bloomings=2C lousy we=a=
ther with even the largest =22big mama=22 triphyllum and ringens tube=rs=2C=
even Amorphophallus konjac and Sauromatum venosum matrons for that matt=
er=2C rotting out (but the colonies still are strong with decent sized =p=

=2E Flavum too and recently consanguineum - several forms=2C amurense==2C=
kiushianum=2C and urashima (2nd attempt)=2C fargesii=2C and maybe =cilia=
tum=2C increase=2E Taiwanense is an OK/maybe=2C only because I have=spre=
ad it about to diversify its conditions and dependent on the weather=2E==
One blooming well one year is just a small plantlet in the same location=
the next=2C and for another location vice-versa=2E Sikokianum grows==2C =
in reverse=2C for me=2E 1 good tortuosum that survived only comes up =in =
odd-numbered years=2C go figure=2E Heterophyllum did well for a while=an=
d is now gone=2C and candidissimum mysteriously declined in vigor=2E =I=27=
ve given up repeatedly on griffithii=2C nepenthoides=2C kishidae=2C=spec=
iosum=2C wilsonii=2C utile=2C and the whole elephas/asperatum group==2E M=
any of these were from Kaichen but some too were super nice plants from =
places like Plant Delights=2E

Maybe somatic cell fusion and/or embryo rescue may work=2C or the produ=c=
