I hope you all have better luck with the USDA=C2=A0 than=C2=A0 I==C2=A0did.=
=C2=A0=C2=A0
Three years ago, I drove 40 miles each way to the nearest USDA office to==C2=
=A0apply for importation permit.=C2=A0 Told the person I talked to =that I j=
ust wanted to import a few seeds to for my own use
Sent in the application and=C2=A0received, I think, two pages of the =yellow=
and green permits,=C2=A0some of which I sent off to Eric.
=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0
Received my seeds close to two months after Eric mailed them,=C2=A0af=ter se=
veral telephone calls both to=C2=A0Carolyn Fitzgerald=C2=A0and to=the plant=
quarantine=C2=A0office at the P.O.E.
Last year I tried again=C2=A0and, after waiting for=C2=A0quite aw=hile, was =
informed=C2=A0that I in fact=C2=A0had been=C2=A0sent the wron=g type of perm=
it and that I had to apply all over again, while in the meantime, we were=w=
ell into spring, and my seed shipment was gathering dust at the P.O.E.=
So by that time I decided that life was too short, and maybe there were l=es=
s complicated genera to specialize in.=C2=A0
