I also agree with you Eva and Michael!
But have you noticed where all the arisaemas, cypripedium and similar =
plants are coming from, which where selled at ebay, or even selled from =
well known nurserys!? They all are buying their plants from Chen Yi or =
similar "nurserys" in China or India and sell them with 300% or even =
more!!!
best greetings from Austria!
Gerfried

Yes I have to agree with Michael. I have mentioned several times on =
various
lists why not encourage Chen Yi to collect seeds. The argument was that =
they
(the collectors) could not identify the plants once they were in seed,
meaning that they dig up the plants when in flower. However it seems to =
me
that by going twice once in flower and once in seeds it could easily be
done. She could easily charge just a much for the seeds as she does =
plants
and it would be a lot less trouble/expense in terms of labour, =
transport,
storage etc. However I understand that a lot of plants are dug up anyway ==
for
her for Chinese medicine and probably our nursery needs are small =
compared
to this other requirement. Also seems to me that I read somewhere that =
she
had some sort of government connection so could bypass or readily =
receive
permits - but please do not quote me on that. However we should still =
not
encourage digging up wild plants in such a wholesale way. I think if all
nurseries/individuals that order from her said we are not buying plants =
but
would like to buy seeds instead that would help.
