I find Eva's reference to Chen Yi as a supplier of Chinese herbal remedie=s =
interesting. Chen Yi is notorious in the western garden world for supplyi=ng=
wrongly identified plants. Would you want to buy your medicine from a pe=rs=

I also agree with you Eva and Michael!
But have you noticed where all the arisaemas=2C cypripedium and similar=pla=
nts are coming from=2C which where selled at ebay=2C or even selled f=rom we=
ll known nurserys!? They all are buying their plants from Chen Yi or simi=la=
r "nurserys" in China or India and sell them with 300% or even more!!!
best greetings from Austria!

Yes I have to agree with Michael. I have mentioned several times on vario=us=
lists why not encourage Chen Yi to collect seeds. The argument was that t=he=
y(the collectors) could not identify the plants once they were in seed==2Cme=
aning that they dig up the plants when in flower. However it seems to met=ha=
t by going twice once in flower and once in seeds it could easily bedone.=S=
he could easily charge just a much for the seeds as she does plantsand it=w=
ould be a lot less trouble/expense in terms of labour=2C transport=2C=storag=
e etc. However I understand that a lot of plants are dug up anyway forher=f=
or Chinese medicine and probably our nursery needs are small comparedto t=hi=
s other requirement. Also seems to me that I read somewhere that shehad s=om=
e sort of government connection so could bypass or readily receivepermits=-=
but please do not quote me on that. However we should still notencourage=d=
igging up wild plants in such a wholesale way. I think if allnurseries/in=di=

buy seeds instead that would help.Eva GallagherDeep River=2C Ontario==2C Can=
