Yes I have to agree with Michael. I have mentioned several times on vario=us
lists why not encourage Chen Yi to collect seeds. The argument was that t=hey
(the collectors) could not identify the plants once they were in seed,
meaning that they dig up the plants when in flower. However it seems to m=e
that by going twice once in flower and once in seeds it could easily be
done. She could easily charge just a much for the seeds as she does plant=s
and it would be a lot less trouble/expense in terms of labour, transport,
storage etc. However I understand that a lot of plants are dug up anyway =for
her for Chinese medicine and probably our nursery needs are small compare=d
to this other requirement. Also seems to me that I read somewhere that sh=e
had some sort of government connection so could bypass or readily receive
permits - but please do not quote me on that. However we should still not
encourage digging up wild plants in such a wholesale way. I think if all
nurseries/individuals that order from her said we are not buying plants b=ut
would like to buy seeds instead that would help.
