I use a plastic syringe with a narrow piece of flexible tubing attached,=
which can reach into the bottom of the spathe.I have used the water metho=d
(without detergent) on the recommendation of Don Jacobs a few years ago,=
andit usually seems to work. The hardest part is to keep the water from=
leaking out of the bottom of the spathe, but tilting it back and finger=
pressure helps.
