George,
I just got your book in the mail.
It is very beautiful, though I haven't gotten much past the pictures yet.
I followed a suggestion here to try buy.com who had the best price I coul=d find.
I also got the new Ariaema book.
So my winter evenings are now scheduled!
--Henry, Minneapolis, MN, USA, the cold of winter finally has arrived but=hardly any snowcover (I'm quite worried about all those roots I planted =last fall!)

Here at Hosta Hill I have all size ranges. All grow in the deeps soil (12
inches) of raised beds (Fafard 3B+pine bark mulch+compost+cow manure+a bi=t
of coarse sand+Osmocote with minors+watering when I can). Most grow to 30
cm. I have a number of them coming from a rescued colony I found growing =in
creek clay muck near my home in Tucker that grows to 120 cm (4 feet), wit=h
one reaching 130 cm (a little over 4 feet) in 2002. After many years they
are still BIG with the pseudostem reaching a diameter of 4cm (1.5 inches)=at
the base. I gave Tony a tuber some time ago and Petra Schmidt confirms th=at
the 2002 plant reached the same large proportions. Maybe they will propag=ate
it. A color pic of it is in my new book Encyclopedia of Shade Perennials.
David, please come and see it this spring. Regards George
