You explained this so well that even I could understand. I especially lik=ed
your option #3; "The third option would be to not bother at all about the
name and simply enjoy the flowers!"

The A. franchetianum I rec'd from Ellen some years back, that I later
re-labeled to A. fargesii, can now be re-labeled A. franchetianum.
