I apologize if part of this message comes through. I am having a "danged" time
learning this computer stuff! I, too , have my first Zantedeschia(
'Albomaculata') with a huge, firm, green seed head. And I have no idea what to do
with it, or what to expect from it! I would very much like to save the Mother
plant so could someone tell me how to over-winter it? Or how to ripen the seeds?
It is my understanding that because it is a cultivar the seeds will not produce a
true form. Is this correct? I was also lucky enough to produce a variegated sport
from my Phygelius x rectus "Tommy Knockers". After allowing it to bloom I could
see no difference in the flower- only the foliage that is a definite yellow and
green variagation, and quite beatuiful in pattern. Although I took 36 cuttings,
there are only 9 that I beleive will "make it" ( with the luck of the Plant God's
and Godesses). We'll see! My poor husband! what used to be the outdoor laundry
room has become the propagation house and he would have a better chance of entry
if he were an FBI agent!!!
