Zantedeschia aethiopica 'Green Goddess'

Ray,
My neighbor has been growing a Zantedeschia with heavily silver marked
leaves and off-white spathe for several years along the curbside --
practically in the street. Someone once told me that many marginal plants
manage winter better when positioned near pavement -- suggesting that it
emits a protective warmth. [?] The plant has an enormous seed head
arching it's way onto the pavement and my neighbor told me to take it. I've
been waiting for the seeds to ripen. That was well over a month ago and today
the seeds are as green as ever and somewhat soft. What is the proper
procedure for harvesting seed from this plant? My only
experience with Zantedeschia to date has been to never have known a bloom and
to never have had one survive the winter. As they are quite beautiful, I
continue to attempt overcoming these failures. Having said that, may I
purchase three of same? I'd be happy to pick them up at this month's NARGS
meeting.
Thanks for making this offer available*
