Subject: Re: A. sikokianum problem?
Al,
All Arisaema go dormant. The foliage turns yellow-brown-grey then
shrivels away.
A. sikokianum on a normal cycle would emerge in early spring, grow until
say August, and
then go dormant. Since you were forcing them, the cycle will be different
but the durations
should be similar. If all is well, the tubers will be intact and in good
shape.
Arisaema do need moisture during the growing season and will go dormant
if it is
withheld. However, too much moisture during dormancy may encourage
rotting.
