Don't be sorry. Arisaema-L is for hardy aroids.  And you may have added
one to the list. I don't
know of anyone growing Helicodiceros muscivorus outdoors in zone 7 let
alone zone 6.

Some aroids will lie dormant a year if they were stressed the previous
growing season - too many seed produced, too dry, etc.  I've too have
experienced this with Dracunculus vulgaris. In my case, it definitely was
lack of water that did it.
