Ray's advice is good, but if you're asking if there is any advantage to
leaving the tubers in the ground after they go dormant, I think the answer is
"no", as long as you plan to dig them anyway.

The tubers form new roots each year, and I doubt that there is any
significant additional nourishment added to the tuber stores once
photosynthesis has ceased.
