I've taken a bit different approach. If the mix in the pot is new I don't
fertilize at all. If the tubers are left in pots for more than one season, I
will water with a weak concentration of soluble fertilizer the second season.
My theory is that since the nutrients have not been depleted in new mix the
plant doesn't need supplemental feeding.
