[Ipe-discuss] How to stop IPE from changing text from normal to math and removing $?

This is a new feature in 7.2.6 (previous versions didn't have textstyle
for labels). In previous versions it was the other way round: If
you created an object in math mode ($), Ipe would silently add dollar
signs around the text when you edit it. With the new math style, you
get a cleaner text to edit.

There is currently no way to work around this, except to set a style
that is different from "normal". You could make a style "plain"
(which does nothing) and use that for your labels, then Ipe would not
remove the dollar signs.

Cheers,
 Otfried
