If using the command line is so inconvenient on OS X, just write a small

Please do NOT recommend Ipe to Mac users until someone in the Mac
community packages Ipe for OS X _and_ handles bug reports specific to
Macs.

I should clearly mark OS X as an unsupported platform in the next release...
