it works the same way for me. But I'm not sure it should be considered a bug. It
seems as  angular snap turns off the grid points once you have started to draw
the line. The reason is likely that if you have grid points, why would you need
angular snaps. With grid points  you can usually figure out by yourself if the
line is in the right direction.

So, just turn off angular snap and it will work as you expect.
