There's something horribly wrong with using Ipe PDF files from
pdflatex.  I'll try to fix it in preview 11.  For the moment, don't
use Ipe PDF files that way (if you need to use PDFLATEX, create eps
output and convert to PDF using distill or ps2pdf).
