You can change the size of the grid to any value you wish by using
absolute grid sizes (Snap menu->Absolute grid/angle size).  Likewise
for arrow size (View menu->Absolute attributes).

More "elegant" is to add your own stylesheet defining the values you
need.  That method also works to define your own dashed line styles. 
See Manual->Style sheets.

Note that the Qt library supports only the rendering of the predefined
patters (and it doesn't match the PDF output), so screen display of
any user-defined line style will simply be dotted.  I may be able to
fix this for X11 later, but for Windows, this is how things are.

Different arrow "styles" (shapes of arrows) are planned.
