>I am so relieved to find that I am not the only person in the world who has problems with this plant. After trying about every thing I could think of, I have rotted well over $100 worth of tubers to no avail.
What a relief. Like many folks on this list, I have about 8 green thumbs but this species has me stumped. I can even grow the alpine pleiones outdoors in summers that reach 95 F easily for weeks on end and lows in the mid 70s. I’m not sure what method to try next and you’re right, the bulbs are just too darn expensive here in the States. Maybe I should put them in with the pleiones but get watered by April so too early for griffithii I would think.
