Hmmm!  I wasn't aware that your travel issues were so difficult.
You might be surprised at the tolerance of some arisaema species.  You're
assuming that Siberia has always been cold.(Right)  My amurense have been
growing here now, for about 5 years.  Winter temps are routinely at or to=10
below 0=B0 F and summers with weeks at or above 90=B0.(as this last month=)   I
plant all my Arisaemas fairly deep at about 6".  I don't know if my amure=nse
have set seed this year. I can check if you're interested.  Are there any
restrictions on sending you seed.?  Cheers, Adam

Yes - there seem to be a few smaller species down south, but they're not =in
the
trade, and going down twice - once to locate & ID in flower, and again to
collect
seed - is not so easy to do. It's actually cheaper to fly down to Hong Ko=ng
for
dinner than to travel to Shikoku or Kyushu.

A. amurense might be problematic here - these last few weeks have seen
temperatures between 33=BA~37=BA and I'm losing higher elevation plants l=ike
there
was a plague. I doubt a Hokkaido/Siberia native would thrive here.

Since Tokyo is becoming a tropical island, I was thinking more of coastal
Chinese, SE Asian, or lowland Indian plants, but many thanks anyway for y=our
help.
