Hi Steve and all,

I'm in central Indiana too, and I've had poor results with a lot of
Arisaema species listed as hardy.

A. triphyllum and A. dracontium are perfectly hardy here (they are native=s,
after all!)

candidissima -- most never come up after the first winter; none last
through two winters
ciliatum -- never have come up outdoors in the ground
consanguineum -- lasted several years, never bloomed, ever even increased
in size; all gone now
fargesii struggles to survive, does not get past the one-leaf stage.
flava -- did not survive the first winter in the ground
kishidae -- has come up and bloomed for quite a few years (6) now
ringens -- seems as hardy as sikokianum, or slightly more so; came up and
bloomed faithfully for some years
sazensoo -- seemed as hardy as ringens, bloomed most years; now seems to
have disappeared
serratum -- bloomed the first couple of years, then dwindled away
sikokianum -- lasted quite a few years (about 6) in a raised area under a
fir tree
thunbergii, urushima -- came up for 5 or 6 years, bloomed several times

There is another one out there that seems very hardy. I just can't recal=l
the name right now. I'll report back later.
