That's the nice part of sharing gardening experience.  I've always
assumed it was our winter wet that did them in.  It looks like I'm
getting an offset in one pot so will try it again.  My problem is
actually remembering 1 or 2 years later where I planted the darn thing.
A. fargesii is another one that does well through our winter wet.

Chuckle, a very good guess.....polychorinated biphenyls.  Having to
learn more than I ever wanted to know.
