I suppose the point is that this plant requires constant vigilance or it
becomes weedy. I have the other Pinellia in my garden and while they
spread a bit they are not a problem compared to P. pedatisecta. P.
pedatisecta is a large plant with each corm producing offsets that make
the plant bulk up with time. The bulking combined with the large plant
and the ability to produce seed with every flower overpowers less
aggressive plants and should make people thoughtful in where and how
they plant it in their garden.
