Hello ERick,

I know in my work as a journalist for sports turf and greenkeeping =
magazines
that people use diatomaceous earth as a way to enrich the topsoil of =
greens
and football pitches. The idea is that diatomaceous earth buffers water =
and
fertilizers in a very natural way. This way you can spare on irrigated =
water
and fertilizers. 
To be honest I can't see what use this has in the seedling phase of a =
plant.
In my opinion I would make more sense to use mycorrhiza. 
Mycorrhizas are a group of fungi that grow in symbiosis with the roots =
of
the plant. They enhance the capacity of the young roots to withdraw =
water
and fertilizers out of the topsoil.

Has anybody every used diatomite for growing out seedlings or in potting ==

mixes?  I've inherited some, but I've never used it before. I have some= 
heterophyllum seedlings germinating right now and figured I might give =
it a
try. 
The brand name is Dyna-rok.  Any info would be great.
