Hi Pat,

You will find this to be a useful article in germinating your seeds.

http://www.aroid.org/genera/arisaema/herold/Pages/arculture.html

They are warm germinators ( about 20C-22C, I find, but have seen A.
sikokianum specifically noted to be at 15C-25C, and are usually quite
simple. They can be prone to damping off though; some people like to
use products such as no damp to control this, but the key is really to
not have the soil soggy and wet (in other words, don't over water).
Personally I prefer to use the low maintenance method of planting them
into a tray of moist, soil-less potting mix and then gently watering
it. I really find that it helps to put the entire container into a
clear plastic bag until the first leaf emerges; I have always had
better germination rates using this method. The seeds need darkness to
germinate, so they must be covered with the soil-less mix, and they
will need plenty of light once they emerge. I like to use a grow
light, but a bright (but not too hot) windowsill should do just fine
until you can acclimatise them to the outdoors, for example to a cold
frame.

If the seeds have been stored, germination can often be sped along by
soaking them in water overnight before sowing them.

There are lots of different methods though, and each person has his or
her own preference, so check out the link above. Also, you might try
searching the Arisaema-L archives, they are loaded with information!

Hope that this helps, and good luck with your seeds!

Nova
