The variation in emergence time is interesting and, for me, unexpected,
because this feature is not quite "intermediate" although it may be if t=he
parents were somwhat separated in emergence dates. So "intermediate"mig=ht
not be an arithmetic average, but scattered along a continuum. The plant
decides, not us.
