In response to Georgio: This is apparently uncommon, but not rare (depend=ing
on one's definiton). Chen Yi mentions it and I think showed one a few ye=ars
back. I would not expect it to appear in succeeding years, although I wo=uld
not rule it out.

It might be useful to have a brief discussion about it, and possible caus=es,
e.g., external physical damage or other disruption to the growth cycle
(?),e.g., heavy rain followed by drought and then normalization, digging =and
replanting; chemical drift from nearby spraying (?). I have about 5 plan=ts
of A. triphyllum that are showing only 2 leaves this year. All were newly
planted last year and newly acquired from different places. I do not exp=ect
to see this kind of anomaly next year.

I went to www.catchflower.com which is a native plant nursery in China a=nd
saw some names which were new to me: A. bijinagensis (bijiangensis?); A.
pianma, (pianmaense?) ; A.yingjiangense, and hunanense. A couple of thes=e
are in the first edition of the Gusman book but not illustrated. Do the=y
appear in the second? Does anybody on this list grow them? All appear to =be
from southern China

How different is the second edition and what is the nature of the amendme=nts
and additions?

Has anybody bought from Catchflower? They claim to have accurate taxonom=ic
identifications.

My plants are doing well this year, although a few may yet let me know th=at
they've died. Most of what came from Chen Yi were consanguineums of vario=us
sorts, but I did get two different saxatiles, and one as yet unidentifiab=le
plant which I shall post pictures of later on, after I learn how, or get =my
wife to assist with.
