Now DON'T tell me you are suggesting that Pinellia is a GYMNOSPERM!!!!
Naked seeds??? No way. There IS a berry around them but of the "dry" type=,
which doesn't strike anyone as a genuine berry but it really is. It just
isn't juicy but morphologically a berry nonetheless.
Also Pinellia's, as any aroid, have a central stem, which is in fact the
tuber in the soil. Leaves and inflorescences are "appendages" of the stem
and sometimes in aroids the bases of leaves are sheathing and surrounding
each other at the base over a noticeable length and thus forming a
"pseudostem". Several Arisaema species do that. Pinellia's don't.
