Subject: How to get rid of the clutter in e-mail messages!

Hi All
Our computer doesn't automatically include a message when replying, ev=en when
we hit the ol' reply button. There is a setting in most e-mail programs t=hat
controls this feature, as well as whether the quoted message is above or =below
the new composition. In Netscape it's in preferences/mail and
newsgroups/composition. It may take a bit to find in other programs, but =it's
there. Perhaps others that have other programs can post a note, letting u=s all
know where the settings are to be found?
This works well, since you can copy text from the original message, pa=st it
into the reply, and respond in place. This also keeps the headers (the pa=rt with
your personal information, like e-mail address) from being passed on to w=ho
knows who.
I also appreciate the effort when it's made to clean up and edit repli=es that
are quoted (see G=F6te's message on 16 April for an example)! It looks ne=ater, is
easier to read, and implies more thought was given to the responce. Also,=it
takes up less space, and loads faster.
Oh, and while I'm on a roll, please, please change the subject line to
reflect what is actually in the message. This is not necessary if one is
responding to an on going thread, but essential if one is using the reply=button
to bring up a composition screen for a new topic. Many messages in the ar=chives,
with very usefull information, are useless because of the incorrect subje=ct line.
Thanks, Hope this helps
