Arisaemas in the garden here in central coastal New Jersey, but still no =seeds having arrived. A kiushianum which grew to maturity from seedex2000=was stored dormant in refridgeration indoors from last summer has just b=loomed a second time, this time indoors and earlier than last year. As th=e inflorescence shriveled last year I was worried about the whole plant r=otting down so I dug it up and potted it and slowly dried it out under co=ver from rain. The seedling survived its first years unsheltered outdoors=but the larger blooming size tuber I worried might rot. It showed its tr=ue semi-subtropical nature by starting to grow so early while still in th=e refridgerator drawer.
Outside only nepenthoides is starting to show its spathe and only large m=other bulbs of ringens are "pointing" their ghostly colored cataphylls ab=ove ground. None of the numerous ringens offsets I dug up last fall and s=pread to other locations in the garden are showing. Likewise for amurense=, usually one of the earliest ones also, has not shown yet so I'm not wor=ried about my surviving sikokianum(s) as of yet. Of course, by the time t=riphyllum shows in a week or two, I should be sure about these, and serra=tum, and perhaps iyoanum var naka-something-or-other (was very $$).
Great Dysosmas, Asarums, Epimediums, Paris, and even signs of life from C=ypripediums showing. Of course the new job is killing me with long hours.
