I didn't order any seed, but I have a question...
In the letter to the list below, Christopher mentions that the seed are =
coming from a botanical garden. Are these seeds actually being sent in =
envelopes with the garden's return address on them? Seems like that =
would be the first GIANT red flag for our friends at USDA - or where =
ever the seeds are being intercepted - screaming "here I am, destroy =
me!".
Maybe I've just been lucky, but I've never had any problems receiving =
tubers, bulbs or seeds from Europe, Asia or South America. Also, when I ==
lived in Japan I airmailed boxes of plants home, but that was easier in =
the 80's. Then and now, all were sent in UNASSUMING boxes or envelopes. ==
I'm not advocating doing anything illegal, but isn't it easier to =
quietly fly under the radar? And even though they always contain the =
right paperwork and I have the permits from the USDA, in two years not =
one of the boxes from Chen Yi has ever been opened and inspected. Go =
figure.
Anyway, it works for me.

Unfortunately my envelope also arrived without seed and with the Mail =
Interception Notice. Although the law may have been put in place for =
good reason, it is frustrating in these instances. Arisaema seed are =
large and distinctive, would be easy to realize there was no harmful =
weed seeds or organisms with them. Add to the fact that they were sent =
from a botanical garden, not an individual. It is ashame to know that =
good seed that people took the time to clean and donate, and Eric took =
the time to distribute, were destroyed. I wish the rest of you better =
luck!
