It's very dry here and the Arisaema have mostly gone down without seed.
Even the Vinca minor is stresses beyond its limits. Cornus florida is
loosing leaves and looking poorly.

I have plants to plant, but I don't dare until we get some rain. Now
they're saying that hurricane Ophelia will probably not give Raleigh, NC
much rain. I'd wish for a lot more, but down here you have to be careful
what you wish. The gods can dump on you something awful.

I spent some time during WWII in Gulfport and New Orleans. The devastatio=n
is beyond comprehension. We used to stop for pralines at the end of the
Pass Christian bridge on the way from Gulfport to New Orleans. It's just
gone. We studied for our Electronic Technicians exams in a bathtub filled
with ice water (no AC back then) at a Gulfport hotel. It's gone too.

Mother Nature can bring beauty, witness the Arisaema, but she can be real=ly
brutal too.
