I see nada of what I planted from last year's seed distribution...yet.
The gorgeous Arum italicum with variegated leaves from the seed
distribution a few years ago is in full form, flowering last week. Last
year I had the most gorgeous A. fargesii bloom set off by the bank of pink
azaleas behing it (thanks, Fausto Ceni!) but this year no sign of it. On
the other hand D. vulagris, absent last year, seems to have appeared this
year in leaf anyway. A. konjac is in full and mighty flower at the house
on the Bay (where I can neither see nor smell it) but hasn't broken ground
yet here in Charlottesville.
A. bulbifer is just poking up, in a state of arrested development it seems
to protest the cool weather.
It is cold enough in late May for a fire in the fireplace here in Virginia...
