Ellen,
Pascal's reply perfectly describes what I noticed. Tibet is quite a large=country and with more than one climatic zone. One result is that all fla=vums from Tibet are not all identical and most of them are not A. flavum =subsp. tibeticum J. Murata, as seen from recent introductions. Check if y=ou have you a specimen with a purely male spadix?
