OK, you got me there. <grin>  I had meant that they would stay solid unti=l
they germinated .... I didn't mean that they'd last forever.  By
indefinitely I had meant that they did not have a specific time that they
would last and then rot, but rather they would stay solid for however lon=g
it took them to germinate.  Hadn't even thought of it being read as you
did, but fair comment as it could read like that.

Sorry for any lack of clarity.
