Hello Steef.   .  My triphyllums and consanguineums do quite well on the =shady side of the house, and get 6-8 hours direct sun.   Just because =these things are often found growing in forests or woods, doesn't mean =that they've always been in the shade.  Trees grow too.  Many of the =arisaemas are quite tolerant of direct sun, including flavum in =particular, many consanguineums, and probably others.       Regards, =Adam in Glenview, IL USA. USDA Zone 5a
