The saxatile x tortuosum bulblets are in their second dormancy yet. I
brought out a pot of 2 or 3 that have been refridgerated 4 months, but
expect to lose half in this process. Triphyllum pollen on taiwanense, and
triphyllum on ringens and its reciprocal, are forming fruit. Then there's
also ringens on amurense. There is a possible sikokianum on ringens
forming, but I didn't bother with (re)making the triphyllum with
sikokianum. The lobatum with triphyllum pollen on it collapsed and the stem
and leaf are just holding on, but it looks like another leaf is coming up!
Just yesterday I put speciosum pollen on fargesii, but I haven't bothered
to do anything with the heterophyllums up now, both male. If an upcoming
speciosum is female it may get the pollen as well as that from upcoming
tortuosums. I don't see any sense with crossing heterophyllum with
tortuosum except for hybrid vigor and will leave an unknown
consanguineum-type male blooming now out of the mix. All are labeled well
and bagged to prevent further pollination.
