Joyce,
You didn't consider the other option, forcing.
Keep them growing as long as they will and when they go dormant
put the tuberlets in barely moist Grani-grit. I mean really barely moist.
It should not feel wet, just cool to the touch.
Put them in a poly bag in the frig (40F) and wait 2 months.
Replant and grow for another seasons growth. Etc.
This is covered in depth in the archives. One should get the plants
to blooming size in 2 to 3 years instead of 4 - 5.
