I bought the seeds at the beginning of March and sowed them in fine
sphagnum peat well moistened. I enclosed the pots in a plastic bag so
they wouldn't dry out. They have stayed in my unheated greenhouse, and
are now germinating as the temperature is beginning to rise.

There is a whole "ring" of carnivorous plant websites. It looks like a
dangerous class of plants to grow - almost as addictive as orchids, I
should think. The growers all (well, the webmasters at least), are graced
with a delightful sense of humour, so I think there could be a lot of fun
belonging to such a group. There is a good FAQ at
http://www.sarracenia.com/faq.html and a marvellous lot of pictures at th=e
same site's Galleria Carnivora.

The Galleria has a few snide comments to make about Aroids. "Whisperers
in the darkness, lurkers on the thresholds of humanity and botany. Foreve=r
the outsiders." A few lovely pictures, though.
