While I am an enthusiast, I am a very small-scale arisaema grower. I have
several plants in pots, fewer in the ground. My Arisaema taiwanensis and
Arisaema sikokianum (in the ground) look fine, an Arisaema labelled "A.
coccinum?" is coming up, and several other are waiting, I hope. My worrie=s
have to do with A. triphyllum. Last year I had one in the ground and anot=her
in a pot. The one in the ground has simply disappeared, and the one in th=e
pot sent up a leaf but no blossom. What's the matter? What does it need?
More minerals? More compost?
Seedlings of A. candidissimun (from the Northwest Perennial Alliance) loo=k
great, and the seeds from the last Seedex are resting (I hope), but what
have I done wrong with A. triphyllum?

P. S. The Amorphophallus titanum in the Conservatory in Volunteer Park is
growing nicely. One of the members of the garden club group in the tour
today mentioned the cover of the Plant Delights Nursery catalog. I did no=t
see any Arisaemas when I was in Raleigh a couple of weeks ago, but I did =get
to the Raulston Arboretum (in the rain) and made the trip to Seagrove to =buy
pots.
