Acrobat -- was phylogeny of Arisaema

I'm afraid Acrobat has bitten the commercial bullet and gone the way
of all standards. After 10 years of being able to open all .pdf's
suddenly I can't anymore, and a check of the Acrobat download site
reveals that in order to upgrade I need a newer computer, and a newer
operating system for optimal use. Even some .jpg files are going this
way.
