I had a similar experience with seed from a late season, delayed-blooming
triphyllum (was refridgerated) that was used as the recipient of a male
consanguineum spadix. Frost got it before it could ripen, but there were
1/2 size hard seeds in each berry. They hung on for months in damp paper
towels, before all slowly rotted away.
