Howdy All,

This email is part of the continuing saga of my "mixed" seedlings from th=e
batch labelled as A. ringens from this years send out.

I mentioned initially that there were three types.... 2 large leaf, 3
tripartite leaf and 3 small leaf varieties. I have noticed a while back
that the small leaf ones have some white or silver veining in the leaf as
well. Then all of this variety sent up a second leaf, the only ones of a=ll
my seedlings to send up more than one leaf after germinating. Today I
discovered that one of these three has now sent up a third leaf as well.
This is all within 4 1/2 months of germinating.

Now my question is whether this is a help in identifying what these
unknowns may be. A friend here in Canberra recived the same batch and ha=s
the same three varieties appeared in hers as well. We figure that the
large leaf is most likely A. candidissimum, the tripartite leaf A. ringen=s
(have been told that iscorrect for ringens) so we're wondering what this
thrid may be. Is the emergence of multiple leaves in its first season an
identification factor? All the leaves produced by this variety (3
specimens) seem to have the veining, all have sent up multiple leaves, bu=t
only one has as yet sent up a third leaf. Certainly looks like they aren='t
thinking of going dormant yet!!

As an added comment..... my A. speciosum that i wrote about a whilte back
is still growing fine, although it might be starting to yellow a little
finally. Maybe it will finally go dormant after 5 months?

If anyone has any thoughts on the multiple leaves in the first season
please let me know. So much to learn!!

Cheers.
