Lyn,

I concur with Jim. Your plant needs to adjust to Australian seasons, but
it won't like frosts at all.

#1. put the pot outside during the day and bring in at night.  This'll
work if you are sure to have it inside
on frosty days.
#3. Keep inside till the plant goes to sleep again. This will work if you
can give it lots of light and water.

Either of these will keep the plant alive but do nothing to adjust it's
seasonal timetable.

#4 The better solution is to combine #1 and/or #3 with refrigeration to
gain a season as Jim
suggested.
