I've been trying to get everyone to change the defaults set
by AOL and Micro$oft by setting their preference/options to "Plain Text".
I didn't
think about setting them to "ASCII". That might cure the problems some
are having.

The trash that arrives in a "Rich Text" E-mail would choke a horse. Many
lists are
simply rejecting these messages now because they clog up the archives
unless
the list-master manually edits out the codes and other trash.
